Each year, Chorale Connecticut recognizes four of its members for their outstanding contributions to the group. For the 2007-2008 season, we are pleased to honor these members.

Florence Thibodeau (Soprano)
As is probably true with all Chorale members, I have enjoyed singing my entire life and have had the opportunity to sing with special groups beginning at an early age. While attending elementary school, I was part of a choral group which debuted on a local television station performing French songs. I have since sung with various church choirs and community choral groups. Chorale CT is the first auditioned group I am privileged to sing with. I have taken voice lessons from our Artistic Director, Dorothy Barnhart, for over 10 years and this expert training has prepared me for performing solo works at various ceremonial occasions, as well as working as a Cantor at St. Joseph Church in Meriden. I have been employed by the FBI for over 37 years which has afforded me the opportunity to travel throughout our country, including a month's stay in Anchorage.

Kristin Ceneviva (Alto)
I was born and raised in Meriden, CT, and my family is not quite sure where I got my musical talent from (as my parents are definitely not singers). All my life I have been surrounded with music; as a young child I was a member of Spirit Joy, a children's choir, and had the absolute pleasure of working professionally with José Feliciano. My musical passion carried me through high school where I was a member of both Maloney High School Cantabiles and Allegretto advanced chorale groups. Recently, I graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Musical Performance, and a minor in Theatre. The Chorale has been a second home for me since high school (having been the first Chorale apprentice!) and I am honored and humbled to call them my family.

Nicholas Mercier (Tenor)
A member of the Tenor section with Chorale Connecticut, Nicholas has studied voice and music education at the Crane School of Music in New York. In addition to singing he also teaches elementary school, general music and choir in Naugatuck, CT and is a member of The National Association for Music Education. He composes and arranges choral works during his free time (including summers) and one day hopes to be a published composer. In addition to his musical pursuits, Nicholas, an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, enjoys camping and kayaking with his wife. Within the Chorale, Nicholas has been responsible for the composer notes featured in the programs for both concerts of 2007. He enjoys the many opportunities that Chorale Connecticut provides to the community for music enrichment and advocacy and hopes to continue his work with them for many years to come.

Howard Inglis (Bass)
It seems as if I've been singing my whole life. My father sang barber shop, and he and my mother enjoyed getting together with friends and harmonizing the popular songs of the day. A charismatic high school chorus teacher inspired me to continue singing in college. I was transferred by my company to Wallingford in 1976 with my wife Velta and two kids, Stephanie and Andrew. I joined the Meriden Oratorio Chorus, and have sung in the Redeemer Oratorio and the Wallingford Ecumenical Choirs. My daughter currently sings with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and my son, a physics graduate student at BU, also sings and plays guitar. I'm a charter member of Chorale CT, one of the most professional choruses I've been in. Now that I'm retired, I also sing in the Wallingford Chorus with my wife, and am even trying a little barbershop singing.
