Chorale Connecticut - In The News

Ryan Brechlin, Dorothy Barnhart, Jennifer Soderburg,
Mary Ellen Brechlin and Holly Wishart (l. to r.)

Chorale Connecticut, an established not for profit choral
ensemble of 50 auditioned singers, recently presented a
plaque in memory of Colonel Carl Brechlin to Nest Egg
Auctions of Meriden, honoring his support of Chorale’s
fundraising efforts.

The plaque was presented to Mary Ellen Brechlin,
Carl’s wife, by artistic director Dorothy Barnhart and
President Holly Wishart.

The plaque’s inscription reads “Chorale Connecticut
honors our friend Carl Brechlin and Nest Egg Auctions for
their generosity of spirit and unwavering support of Chorale
Connecticut’s
mission to transform life through music.”

Chorale Connecticut was the beneficiary of Carl’s generosity and talent as he hosted its auction fundraisers for five years.
As a gifted auctioneer, Chorale was not surprised when he was able to attract a bid of $100 for a single loaf of homemade bread.
Yes, it was a fundraiser, but Carl also made it an evening of fun. Carl’s professionalism, generosity, kindness and wonderful sense
of humor will be cherished not only by Chorale Connecticut, but also by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Nest Egg Auctions is located at 33 Research Parkway where it has and will continue to run as a Brechlin family business,
as it has for over 10 years in Meriden. Colonel Carl, as he will always be fondly remembered, died unexpectedly in 2008.
